I dont want a list of my products in the main window on startup.

Hi,
when you enter the shop you get a list of products with descrptions in the main window.

I would like to have a welcome text here. And then the user will have to choose a category/product to the left to move on.

How can i do that?

Add a content page (categories - add category, set type to content) with whatever HTML you want to see.
In Configuration set the start page to the name of the content page you've just added

I've had the same idea for my shop to create a welcome page - but I did not want the link for it being visible in the menu block - so (tough guy I am...) set the page to "invisible". And - it works. The link for the page doesn't appear in that menu block. Unfortunately the whole page doesn't appear as a welcome page... qc shows the contact page instead of it. Is this a bug or a feature...!?

Feature.
'Not visible' means precisely that. And the designated contact page is the default for any page that either can't be found or is set not to be visible.
