can't add products with update 1.1

I don't understand what I need to do. I am also getting the following error message

Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/healthydiapers/public_html/core/products-admin.php on line 1

when i add a return, it comes up on line 2..

What should this file say?

the php in my files is the below -- can anyone see why there's an error?
