I don't know, did you contact me already? because I have a suspicion my e-mails don't come lately from that account so when you contact me, please let me know also in here that you already did.
I am back ... unfortunately, the relax time is over!!! ...
long story short, I started a project named "gadmin4QC"on sourceforge.net actually I am writing the README file and trying to create a small pack for uploading.
unfortunately, i faced problems during last testing :-(( more precisely with the image managing! setting up the possibility of the 8 attachable pictures (as it is given by default in the php admin) needs 40 000 rows for 5000 products!!!!!! which causes "deadly slow" file opening/saving/updating! in case of max. 4 pictures per product, it is only 20 000 rows and more useful... (maybe that is the reason why you use your own php solution ???)
I think it is time to think about writing a perl script to fetch data from the .ods file and for formating and creating the php/csv/txt database files!! it is a must anyway, if I wanna do the importing stuff from the php/csv/txt files later! and should be much faster and simple :-)
...so the version 0.1 will be a limited thing for testing purposes only with
yes, but it is in SK language. Can easily translate. Some of the instructions I have already sent to your email. There is just a set of several non-complicated rules to follow.
oh BTW, contrary to what I wrote before in this thread, my script has been recently enhanced to work with all QC 3.x versions, Free, EXT, you name it. It now has a nice general usability.
It can also import product features. The script still works by overwriting the previously imported products by newly imported products, so it's very easy to make changes to your shop in Excel/Calc.
Actually not, Didier. My import does import of categories and features (along with products) and will never overwrite the non-imported products. I have furthermore created an OpenOffice.org macro, that literally allows for import from Calc to QC by push of a single button. This is perfect for those who fix prices and product information like every week or even more often.
