How to set in start page a 'external page'

hi. how can i set another page in the start page, example: if I have page made externally , not in quick cart, and I want to set it as my start page . can i do it? i was trying editig index.php but it didnt work
i hope someone helps me.

If you just want a front splash page with a link through to QC (index.php), try saving it as index.html. You can then change the head.tpl to make the link on the logo point back to index.html instead of index.php if you want to.

It would be most useful to be able to set the Start Page to any existing category.

I have a category named 'FEATURED' - this would be my preferred start page if it were possible (maybe it is?)

Maybe create static page /content page/ on QC editor, then on standard html editor make own page, then paste ready code to QC editor, then save? And on configuratiom menu set Your created page as start page?
