Hi,

Is there a plugin to add sales tax to quick cart? I only need to charge sales tax for orders within one state, not the whole US.

Any help would be great.

Thank you,
Chris

I've been trying to get around this problem since day one - I've found someone who has done it - but they are asking $200+ to send the info (thats a lot - but....)

Possibly two or three of us could get together? but I'm also thinking that the code guy will want that much from each individual - I dont know - I've been trying to add a javascript multiplier to the state field which will increase the subtotl by the percentage for the state chosen but I'm running into problems with the results being passed.

Anyone else got ideas?

As I said earlier.... I can have the code guy do it, but do you want to pitch some cash towards this - not everyting is free - sorry

haha yea i know not everything is free but I do not have the money to pay for this. I figured there would be a plugin available for this type of deal as I would have thought more people would need to do this same thing.

OK, no prob, the only reason I'm not forking out the $ is (in my opinion) h's asking too much - is all. Otherwise I'd have the problem settled.

Understood. It does sound like more than I would be willing to pay for a plugin to be developed.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Is this feature included in the pay version of Quick Cart? Anyone know?

idaryl- can you shoot me an email (chris at chrispund.com) with some more info about the guy you know who wants like $200 for this. Info such as: timeline, actual cost, rights to duplicate it, etc. This may be the only option for my client and I.

Thanks.

Seems that thre is already a plugin "taxAndDiscount".
This plugin is no help for you?

No not really - what that does is use a "set" rate and add it to the total, not bad if you have (One rate only) whereas if there are something like 52 states (like US) and each one has a different %rate -- also there has been many, many people here complaining about that plugin not "adding" the amount to the final paypal/whatever to the final payout

So for all intents and purposes, that plugin doee'nt work - but thanks for the input

I see.
In this case, I think you'd better ask this to OpenSolution.org.
Have you already sent a mail to them ?

I think the TaxAndDiscount plugin may work for me. We only need to charge sales tax within one start. I just uploaded the files, how do I turn it on? I went into the admin panel and configuration section as said to do but there is no plugins link to enable or disable them.

Any help?

I am using the latest version of quick cart.

I'm not too entirely sure on this but I think the Tax and Discount only works up to 1.4 - if yopu are using 2.0 then you're outta luck - sorry

I think I got it working, but is there a way to make it optional to the customer?
